Neopopo dog training, developed by Jan Fennell, focuses on understanding and using dogs’ natural communication to build trust and leadership. It emphasizes “Amichien Bonding,” where handlers communicate through body language and energy, similar to how dogs interact in packs. This method promotes a calm, assertive approach to address behavior issues by setting clear boundaries and routines, avoiding physical punishment, and using gentle but firm corrections to guide the dog’s behavior positively. Neopopo aims to foster a respectful, harmonious relationship by aligning with the dog’s instincts and communication style.
Balanced dog training incorporates diverse techniques like positive reinforcement, correction-based methods, and understanding canine psychology. It blends rewards for good behavior with corrections or punishments as needed, tailored to each dog’s temperament and training needs. This approach recognizes that dogs respond differently to various methods, emphasizing flexibility, clear communication, and consistency to achieve obedience and good behavior. Balanced trainers aim to establish trust and respect through structured training that balances positive reinforcement and correction strategies effectively.
I incorporate both of these training styles as suited per dog that is trained. All dogs are different and need time, patience and care given to each approach no matter the training method. I stand to form bonds with these dogs and understand where I need to tweak myself as a trainer to provide an engaging experience.
A shock collar typically refers to a training device that delivers an electric stimulus to a dog’s neck via metal prongs or contacts. It is primarily used as a form of punishment or aversive training to deter unwanted behaviors by causing discomfort or pain when the dog behaves undesirably. Shock collars are often criticized for their potential to cause stress, fear, and physical harm to dogs if used improperly or excessively.
In contrast, I use, eCollar Technologies “Mini-Educator Line” primarily this brand is often referred to as e-collars or electronic collars, which are distinct from traditional shock collars in several key ways. These collars are designed with advanced technology that allows for more precise and adjustable stimulation levels, which can include a range of sensations from a mild vibration or tone to a gentle stimulation similar to a tap on the shoulder. The primary purpose of eCollar Technologies’ collars is to aid in positive reinforcement training by providing clear communication between the handler and the dog. They are often used in conjunction with reward-based training methods to reinforce desired behaviors without relying solely on punishment. These collars are engineered to be safer and more humane, aiming to enhance communication and improve the dog’s responsiveness to commands, rather than inducing fear or discomfort.
I use E-collars to help have solid communication with my dog. I want them to have freedom to be off-leash with me and respectful on hikes, out at the park, and on any adventure that comes out way. I also want to use it as a tool that helps better shape understand and we can work hard through this because we can communicate better.
The beauty of E Collars lies in their unparalleled adjustability to suit every dog’s unique needs. We can effectively train with minimal physical force – even less than what’s typically required with a traditional leash. With E Collars, dogs learn to associate the sensation of the collar with a specific action and quickly learn how to turn it off. Regardless of age, breed, or behavior, E Collars have proven to be the most versatile training tool that produces results while minimizing stress on dogs and their owners.
